UV-C Light and Plasma Technology

‘UV’ (ultra-violet) means ‘beyond violet’ – light beyond the highest frequency of visible light. ‘C’ represents its germicidal properties.

As a method of disinfection, the power of UV-C light was discovered over a century ago. Since then, it has been proven to be one of the most effective ways of killing bacteria and inactivating airborne viruses, including coronavirus.

UV-C is an invisible light that occurs along the electromagnetic spectrum of 100nm>280nm. Unlike other UV rays, it is completely absorbed by the earth’s ozone layer and atmosphere, meaning none of it reaches the earth’s surface. Light plasma technology contains these UV-C wave lengths.

The air purification systems delivered at CDSI work by using powerful light plasma technology to break down the RNA and DNA of micro-organisms. This kills bacteria, spores and inactivates airborne viruses to deliver immediate air safety at a flow rate of up to 70 m3/h.
